2023 Yamaha YZF-R1M

Yamaha has a rich heritage of building supersport motorcycles designed to deliver the pinnacle of performance on and off the track. Based on the legendary YZF-R1, the R1M goes a step above: standard features include premium hlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS), a standard Communication Control Unit (CCU) for data and lap time acquisition with your smartphone, MotoGP-derived electronics and carbon fibre bodywork. From crossplane crankshaft engines to revolutionary electronics such as the six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Yamahas historical achievements have become the future of R World.

Carbon fibre, magnesium and titanium are used throughout the R1M for quality, light weight and performance. Titanium connecting rods are 60 percent lighter than conventional steel to reduce horsepower losses and provide faster throttle response. The R1Ms wheels, oil pan, cylinder head cover and crankcase covers are all made of magnesium, while a new carbon fibre tail cowl accompanies the existing carbon fibre front fender, fairing and passenger seat cowl.

The Yamaha R1M was created to represent the pinnacle of sport bike performance and quality. The comprehensive electronics suite and high levels of fit and finish are topped with a serial-numbered badge, highlighting the exclusivity of the R1M and its owners.

hlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) is a key feature of the R1M chassis. The NPX pressurized front fork includes a gas cylinder built into the front fork axle bracket. Rear shock settings complement the performance of the front fork. A dedicated Suspension Control Unit rapidly adjusts the front and rear damping in real time whether braking, cornering, or accelerating. ERS provides streamlined dynamic tuning modes for both street and track, as well as manual modes for conventional suspension tuning with fixed damping.
